Someone showed me the Android Auto app, and I"m amazed at how much you can do without looking at or touching your phone. It's going to motivate me to get a new phone. My phone's a couple years out of date and won't run it, but my phone is still more modern than my car.
The car is upgraded every time we get a new phone with the Shelf. Cars last so much longer than they did 20 years ago, when it was rare to "flip" the odometer. (For Millennials, odomoeters used to only go up to 100,000 miles and then flip back to zero.) I'd rather put my money into a new phone than a new car.
